Medieval Paris, and the darker stories behind it

Two hours on foot through the oldest part of Paris, with a guide who knows its history, including the parts most tours leave out. We start on the square where the city once held its public executions, cross to the island where Paris began, and walk up the Left Bank past one of the oldest churches in the city, the mansion of the abbots of Cluny beside the ruins of Roman baths, and the hill where Paris keeps the shrine of its patron saint. At each stop your guide tells the stories behind it: the executions, the legends, and how the city came through its darkest centuries.
